League play and activities are alive and well at Prescott Golf Club!

For a club the size of Prescott Golf Club, we have a variety of Leagues and league-type activity. Heck, we have a lot going on for a club TWICE our size!

Virtually ANY golfer of any age, ability and gender can find a league here that suits them. Hey, if you don’t, let us know and we’ll see what we can do!

Member Leagues

Lotto League

Monday 11am

Steve Cole organizes a competitive game (no moving your ball, all putts holed out), open to members, using each players Golf Canada handicap index, . To sign up or for more information, contact Steve Cole by email at colesteve021@gmail.com  There is a daily entry fee to participate.

Women’s Tuesday League

Tuesday 9am

Plays every Tuesday from early May until late September. This is a social league not a competitive league. 18 holes. Sign up individually for each week and tee times will be formed by the league organizer. To register or for more info email the league organizer at time4tee@cogeco.ca 

Wednesday PM Social League

Wednesday

This is the 2nd year of this women’s league that runs every Wednesday from the second Wednesday in May until the first Wednesday after Labour Day in September. This is a social league not a competitive league, where you can play 9 holes or 18 holes. Sign up individually for each week and tee times will be formed by the league organizer Shelley Plooy. Greengrass Gang League

Wednesday 11am

Ed Greengrass (yes, that is his real last name) organizes a competitive game (no moving your ball, all putts holed out), open to members, using each players Golf Canada handicap index. Senior Men’s League

Thursday 8am

Long-standing Prescott tradition – these men play during the morning, starting at 8am. To sign up, put your name on the poster located immediately outside the golf shop door leading to the hallway. Players must sign up by Monday morning to be included in the Thursday game. For more information on this league please contact Peter LeBarron by email at peter.millie@hotmail.com  

Men’s Team Play

Thursday 9:30am

Another men’s tradition here. A tee time section is blocked off between 9:30 and 11:00am for those that are interested in playing in the league’s morning group. To be included in this tee time block, or for info on pricing and scoring structure, please contact league organizer Ed Greengrass by email at edgreengrass@hotmail.com  For those who cannot play during this block, you are able to play at any time throughout the day. It’s very informal, fun league. Golf Canada handicap index is required as this league uses handicaps to ensure fair competition among all players.

Women’s Thursday League

Thursday 11am

Plays every Thursday from the first Thursday in May until the last Thursday in October. This is a social league not a competitive league. 18 holes. Sign up individually for each week and tee times will be formed by the league organizer Kim Davis. To register or for more info email Kim at pgcladiesclubcaptain@gmail.com 

Friday Bugfest

Teeing off Friday’s starting at 11:30am. This is a competitive league which is open to all members (male and female) as well as guests. All players must have a Golf Canada handicap index in order to compete. Daily entry fees are charged. To sign up, put your name on the poster that is on the wall in the hallway outside of the golf shop. A new poster is put up for each event.

Intersectional (Ladder) Regional Play

This is a chance to pit our best against the best players from other clubs all around the Ottawa Valley. And guess what? Our team(s) are pretty competitive!

There are four clubs per division:

Available for our men, women, juniors, senior men and senior women.

St. Lawrence League

St. Lawrence League is an annual men’s competition between 12 clubs (Prescott, Brockville, Cataraqui GCC, Cornwall CC, Malone, Potsdam, Gananoque, Mississippi, Garrison, Smiths Falls, Perth, Amherstview GC). The team consists of 10 players including 1 junior and 1 senior. Tryouts for the team take place in June. If you love competitive golf, this event is for you. The host club is rotated through all member courses. Potsdam GC is scheduled to host in 2024.

Men’s Valley League

Men’s Valley League is an annual competition between Prescott GC, Morrisburg GC, Cedar Glen GC and Iroquois GC. The team consists of 4 A Flight golfers, 4 B Flight golfers, 4 C Flight golfers, 1 Junior, 1 Senior, and 3 Club Reps (President, VIP and Club Captain). In 2023 Prescott won and brought home 9 trophies. Morrisburg hosts in 2024.

Women’s Valley League Play

This league, a tradition for the last 25 years, consists of 5 clubs situated along the eastern seaway valley between Cornwall and Prescott. Each lady golfer must qualify in her handicap class to play in a one day tournament. Points are accumulated for low gross and low net winners for each handicap class to determine who gets bragging rights to call their club THE CHAMPIONS. Our ladies have won the tournament on occasion. In 2023 we brought home 7 trophies – quite the feat! Morrisburg hosts in 2024.

Men’s Border League

This is a another chance to pit our best against the best players from other clubs and from other markets. And guess what? Our team(s) are pretty competitive!

There are eight clubs in Border League: Brockville CC, Prescott GC, Smiths Falls GC, Gananoque GC, Morrisburg GC, St. Lawrence University GC, Cornwall CC and Partridge Run GC.

This event is held in early August and the host rotates each year. Prescott hosts in 2024
